Writing about your vision for your career and your inspiration for pursuing this career path

This is the most common type of essay question, asked by almost every business school. Career vision has to be seen in the light of a long term. When the term career is used, a person is expected not to mention only the goals but also the intermediate steps because they constitute the career. One can never undertake an action without a definite vision. Vision is your unique way of perceiving things that you want to modify as per your terms. To set definite goals for your career, you need to have a clear vision of what you aim to achieve in your life. It solely depends on your capability of analyzing things.

Your essay should define your way of perceiving your career goals. A magnificent career is something every individual dreams of, but you need to explain how sharp you are at your vision for achieving your committed goals. You need to prove in your essay that your vision is something different from others. You might have career goals similar with many other applicants, but the ways you are planning to adopt to fulfill them has to be poles apart than others. Your essay should reflect your robust imagination power. The world of academics is a place full of opportunity. Education, when coupled with the desire to learn opens doors to things that might once have seemed impossible. You just need to show your ability to research for self-education, and, more importantly your desire to learn.

You can focus on certain aspects while crafting your vision statement: State your vision statement clear enough to make the admission committee understand what you are dreaming of?

1.  Focus on what has led you to develop this kind of vision.
2.  What has inspired you to mould yourself into such visionary mission?
3.  Describe what personal traits in you will enable you to successfully fulfill your vision.
4.  How do you find this career path interesting and the reason as of why you have chosen this specific career path?
5.  Don’t forget the alignment with the other questions else it might depict lack of maturity. In the end, the presentation matters.

Jonathan Swift had once quoted, “Vision is the art of seeing what is invisible to others”. Hence, put a step forward and make an attempt to show the admission committee what your vision is.
